The Rules

Note: Any flagrant violations of these rules will cause the offending player to be PUT IN "TIME OUT" AND MOCKED BY THE CAST.

Combat

ALL FIGHTS ARE IN SLOW MOTION

Your fighting speed MUST match the speed of the War Drums you will hear. Blows that are not in SLOW MOTION will be ineffectual. Repeated slow motion violations will cause you to be PUT IN "TIME OUT", and possibly, removed from the game.

Spells

ALL SPELLS MUST RHYME

They must form a two-line, rhyming couplet. If the spell is too short or does not rhyme, the spell will fizzle. An example of a spell that won't work: "Sleaze, Freeze!" An example of a spell that works: "We don't want to be a vulture's meal, I ask the gods my party to heal".

ONLY THE PARTY MEMBER HOLDING THE ORB CAN CAST A SPELL

You must hold the orb aloft in your right hand and speak clearly.

YOU HAVE ONLY SEVEN SPELLS

DO NOT try to wish for more spells. Very bad things happen to party members who try this. We're not kidding.

ONLY USE A VERSION OF A SPELL ONCE

We expect you to be a little more creative with your spell casting. For example, you cannot throw a Heal spell in one scene and then a Regeneration spell two scenes later because your arm was cut off. Similarly, you cannot throw both a Resurrect and a Reincarnate spell in the same episode.

SPELLS THAT ARE SUCESSFULLY CAST ONLY LAST ONE SCENE

That's it.

SPELLS THROWN AT THE SAME TIME CANCEL OUT

This means that if a PC and a NPC begin to throw a spell at the same time, BOTH spells are canceled out and the PC's spell is counted against the party's total. Also, if you are throwing a spell or calling out a skill in the middle of combat, BE CAREFUL. If you take damage in anyway during your casting or calling, your request will be voided out and counted against the total.

DO NOT LOSE YOUR ORB

No orb = no spells.

WEAPONS USAGE

During the show, TDK will supply the party with pre-approved weapons. We DO allow audience members to BYOB (Bring Your Own Blade), but the weapon must be approved PRIOR to the start of the show by our Blacksmith or his apprentice. NO PLASTIC WEAPONS OR SHARP EDGES of any kind will be permitted for game-play. If you would like to make your own weapon, CLICK HERE. If you would like to purchase a pre-approved weapon for your very own, we recommend the Knighthawk Armoury.

SKILL USAGE

You are allowed to use ONE of your skills per show. Your chosen skill only lasts during the scene in which it was called out. You may use your skill at any time. In order to use a specific skill, face the gods and say "I call out the skill of ____" and use that skill immediately. For a full listing of Classes and Skills, CLICK HERE.

PARTY MEMBERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REMOVE WEAPONS / CLOTHING FROM THE DEAD NPC's UNLESS TOLD OTHERWISE BY THE GUIDE

However, the party members are encouraged to search "dead bodies" for scrolls, jewelry, money, clues, artifacts, etc.

DO NOT EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ARGUE WITH THE GODS

If you argue with the gods, they will force you to suffer a slow, painful, unusual, and often times, embarrassing, death. This death will remove you from the game UNLESS your party has not used their Resurrect or Reincarnate spell and they bring you back to life at that time.

IF YOU ARE TOLD YOU ARE DEAD OR WOUNDED BY ANY CHARACTER OR MONSTER, IT MEANS JUST THAT. PLAY DEAD, THEN PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR SEAT AND ENJOY THE REST OF THE SHOW

However, if a party member later in the show successfully casts a spell to bring their party back, you may return to the stage (but you will not have a weapon or any magic items you had on you at the time of your death).

IF 'KILLED' WHILE ONSTAGE, ALL TDK MAGIC ITEMS AND WEAPONS ON YOUR PERSON WILL BE LOST
